Budongyo, built in 1933 when the March First Independence Movement took place, is an old steel bridge. The bridge bearing rusted and lost its construction function, causing cracks in the beam. Epoxy was injected with steel adherence, but the bridge bearing did not get fixed. The bridge was dangerous enough within years that they were planning on just destructing it. However, Korea E&C donated the construction cost and began the work in 2004. The steel panel was removed first and the bearing was replaced. You could see that it was already separated from the concrete long time ago, but it was hard to see behind the steel panel. The adherence of concrete with the coefficient of linear expansion will fall off without much force.
