the pillars support the compression load. This was an interesting case of finding tension crack on 6 out of 22 pillars. The beam on top of the pillar was fixed to the apartment, but the sinking of the ground resulted in the pillar hanging on the canopy beam, and the tension strength was applied on the pillar. When the situation raised, the original solution was to restore the ground with CGS and JSP without restoring the beam, pillar, and the foundation as well a using a metal panel or carbon fiber. We suggested an alternate route and restored the building by indenting 216 steel stake. We inserted epoxy between the cracks and chip removed the concrete to restore it with a wire rope. We used mortar and finished with a water paint to make the material look similar to its original's.
