Floor surface 800m2 (basement, 18 story above ground, 144 rooms) of an apartment was being tilted with incline of 1/160, grade D, without being affected by any other constructions within 10 years of construction. The load on the tilted building was 24,000 ton, and e used 474 of 216 steel stake to raise and restore the building to a grade B standards without inconveniencing the residents. The foundation thickness of the apartment was 1m and was gradually increased to 2 and 3m during reinforcement, but this only added the weight on the building. Reinforcement of the weak ground by doing so will only promote settlement.
